Amusement Parks of my Life

 Before I start anything on this post, I would like to first of all confirm the fact that I DO NOT like going to amusement parks. Everyone screams and yells because the rides are 'thrilling', but I personally cannot understand why I should wait about an hour for every ride and call it 'thrilling'. Plus, the snacks and the souvenirs are super expensive, so I kind of feel being robbed every time I go to an amusement park.
 However, amusement parks did always create good memories for me because they were enjoyed with my friends and family members. So today I am writing about the seven amusement parks I've been to, and my experiences at each of them.

 <Six Flags>
 This roller coaster in the picture was one of the only rides that really got me excited in my life. It is called the Superman Escape, and it got its name because it  actually goes flying off the rail for a few seconds. It had completely different quality of excitement from the slow, lame rides in Seoul. This ride is in the Six Flags amusement park, and I came here with my friend who lives in the US. I parted with him when I was in elementary school, but he actually invited me to his house in California and had great time.

 <Disneyland>
 The day me and my California friend went to Six Flags was the second day of my US visit. On the last day before my flight, we decided to go to an amusement park one more time. And Disneyland was like the only one that we had time for, so we headed right away. Disneyland wasn't really about huge rides. The reason why it still stays inside my head as a beautiful memory is because I got to meet all the Disney characters I admired when I was young (although I am still 'young'). I felt like I was back in my childhood when I had no pressure from grades, academies, and all those burdens. And it was with my old friend from elementary school, so it really was a meaningful experience.

 <Lotte World>
 Lotte world is a great example to all my complains I have written in my introduction. I first of all have to say, you have to wait an awful long time to get on any of the rides there. The rides aren't even fun, and I bet only the girls might think the rides are exciting. The food there cost double the average price, while it provides you half the quality. My wallet was crying by the time I got home.
 Even though the amusement park itself was awful, I still had fun because the whole fifth grade had a school trip there and I spent lots of time with my friends.

 <Universal Studios>
 Speaking of school trips, in sixth grade we had the chance to travel to Japan and visit the Universal Studios. Because we didn't know how much the original price for the foods were, we couldn't figure out if we were paying more or less. But my mom didn't really give me lots of money, so I just fed off my friends'.
 Since it was our last year seeing each other, the teachers let us do anything we want. So I think I spent the whole day sleeping with my friends in the dorm.

 <Everland>
 After I graduated elementary school, I had to wait a few weeks before going into middle school. Because my family moved to a different region, I didn't have any friends made before entering my new school. So I decided to go to Everland with my closest friends.
 I think Everland is the best amusement park within Korea. The food is expensive but at least they taste good. The rides are quite exciting, especially the T-Express shown in the picture. I couldn't find a faster, steeper roller coaster.

 <Seoul land>
 Until now I've written only about the amusement parks I've been to with my friends. Now I'll talk about an amusement park I've been to with my family.
 My grandma actually asked the whole family to go to an amusement park altogether. Not everyone liked the idea of course, and I myself thought it was really lame to go play at such a place with my family. However, my mom and dad were actually excited to go on some extreme rides, and I remember I enjoyed myself very much.

 <Caribbean Bay>
 I know this one isn't really what we call an amusement park, but I couldn't remember any others. So I decided to write about a place at least similar to one, which was the Caribbean Bay.
 This was a very special trip because it was only me and my best friend Steven who went to play. I never thought we could have so much fun with only the two of us, but we had great time because the day was sort of cloudy and not many people came. So we were basically hitting four rides every hour. As I've mentioned before, I hate waiting in line and this Caribbean Bay experience I think was the best in that perspective.

  1. Hyuntae,

    I enjoyed the theme of your post and the pictures you chose for it. However, you need to use more descriptive language to explain your photos. You write what you did but you should add details about the sights, smells, sounds and tastes you experience.
