The Soccer Field is Flat

Read before going into the essay
: I am satisfied that now the problem about this is issue is solved. The elementary kids are playing on one side of the field, while us middle school students are playing on the other. This persuasive essay was written before this change was made, so please do not   misunderstand the current situation.

....UNTIL ON THE 8th OF AUGUST THE PAs PROHIBITED ALL STUDENTS OF PLAYING SOCCER WHICH IS COMPLETELY INSANE. THE PAs HAVE INVALID REASONS TO THEIR ACTIONS AND ALL THE STUDENTS OF GLPS ARE DEMANDING A CHANGE.

Today, I am writing in presence of all male middle school students who are deeply shocked and raged at a very unequal policy the PAs have made. Apparently, the PAs are only allowing the elementary school kids play on the soccer field next to the dormitory. We see this as an unfair policy, due to three reasonable arguments presented in today's essay; wrong punishment to the wrong people, right to be treated equally, and the decrease in exercise.

The first important thing I wish to explain is that the punishment of not enabling any middle school students on the soccer field, is the wrong punishment to the wrong people. I do acknowledge that some rude middle school students have abused the right to play on the soccer field, by not letting others play. However, these were really SOME kids, a tiny minority of all the middle school students, and there was no need to punish all of us for that. The PAs should have given punishment to only the students who actually did such rude actions, because the purpose of giving a punishment is to reflect on their mistakes. Not to mention the fact that PAs never warned these students about the issue, because if they did then all the students not regarding their age would have played equally on the soccer field.

Then I would like to state that middle school students have the right to be equally treated as the elementary school kids on the soccer field. The thing is, little kids are already having some advantages on other parts of the GLPS camp. To give an example, they always eat ten minutes faster than us at the cafeteria, and always leave faster than us after events which require all students to participate. We already had patience about these advantages, because we thought these were very minor issues. However, this time it is way over the line we can understand. The PAs will say that responsibilities follow rights, but as I've mentioned before only the minority have abused their rights and the rest should be treated equally.

Finally by prohibiting us middle school students on the soccer field, the amount in exercise of many are decreasing. The PAs told us to go out to the huge soccer field all the way down the road, even farther than the Dasan building. But no one wants to go there during a thirty minute break, and all the middle school students actually stayed inside their rooms on the day the PAs announced this policy. My roommate just spent his whole evening at the cafeteria eating watermelons. The break after dinner is the only time we get exercise besides the curriculum; and if the manager of GLPS doesn't want complains on his website from parents, saying their children gained five kilograms at the camp, he would likely change the rules again.

The soccer field gave many benefits to all the students when used equally. However, because of the wrong policy of PAs, our rights and the only time of free exercise is now gone. In this essay, three strong arguments show why we should regain our place on the soccer field; wrong punishment, right of equal treatment, and a decline in exercise. The middle school students would like the PAs to read this essay, and reconsider their actions which were wrong and unequal.

 The soccer field is flat.

  1. Hyuntae,

This letter is a good idea but you didn't present a strong argument. Your reasons are not justified with facts. Adding research or statistics would help your position. You also need a conclusion to your letter.
